Earlier this year we were approached by a Boy Scout who was preparing to do his Eagle Scout project. That young man was Marc Davis. He wanted to make an app for us that would allow people to use their smartphones to go on our walking tour of Lafayette landmarks. Recently, he completed that project for us, and we are proud to announce the Lafayette Historical Society walking tour app.

Once you begin the tour, you are given two options as to how you want to proceed. The first is a manual mode that allows you to wander and manually select the locations you want to know about. The other option is an automated mode. In the automated mode you walk from place to place and the app will know where you are and begin providing information about the location.

The tour begins at the Lafayette Historical Society and ends at Town Hall. In between, you will hit notable landmarks in Lafayette and be provided with information about them. Currently, the app is only available for iOS. You can find it in the app store.

You can also scan this QR code and it will take you to the app store:
