Before we get to the 1964-1965 Electronics Club, there’s a couple of things worth noting.
Campolindo is the fifth and final regular high school in the Acalanes Union High School District (AUHSD). Acalanes opened in 1940, Las Lomas in 1951, Miaramonte in 1955, Del Valle in 1959, and finally Camoplindo in 1962.
When Acalanes opened in 1940, it had a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior class. All the other schools opened with only a Freshman class, and built up to the full four classes during the years that followed. Las Lomas, Miramonte, and Del Valle all started releasing yearbooks when they had the first three classes. Campolindo is the odd school. They decided to release their first yearbook when they had only a Freshman and Sophomore class. As such, their first yearbook is for the 1963-1964 school year.
They didn’t have a devoted Electronics club that year and Wendell Pleis hadn’t arrived. They did have an audio-visual group.
If you look in the 1965 Compañero…
we find that Wendell has started teaching in the AUHSD.
We also find an electronics club that Wendell sponsored.
The students are listed as follows:
Ken Flagg
Mike McCarthy
Kirk Martin
Norm R. Pederson
Brad E. Archer
Gene Yee
Dennis N. Scott
Dave Clarke
That’s all the information on this part that we have at the moment. As with all these posts, please feel free to share any information you might have.
