Lafayette History Rabbit Holes – Acalanes Radio Station KCEQ: Campolindo 1967-1968 Electronics Club

In the 1968 Compañero…

Cover of the 1968 Campolindo yearbook

we find that there was an Electronics Club during the 1967-1968 school year.

Electronics Club has the rare distinction of being behind the scenes on every major production at Campolindo. The psychedelic lighting effects seen at the Christmas program were produced by the Electronics Club. The Club was also responsible for the often difficult lighting effects in “Oklahoma” and “Rally ‘Round the Flag.” The Club has learned about electronics through special projects and trips such as the one they took to Jack London Square Television Station.

Since this entry actually includes a list of the officers of the club and there are a lot of members, we’re only including the officers below.

President: Stephen C. Prey
Vice President: Dale B. Tobias
Treasurer: Thomas W. Trask
Secretary: George Karner

Wendell Pleis was their advisor.

Mr. Wendel Pleis and the Electronics Club contributed many interesting lighting effects.

That’s all the information on this part that we have at the moment. As with all these posts, please feel free to share any information you might have.
