In the 1957 El Caballero…

Cover of the 1957 El Caballero

you find two students in the senior section that state they were in the Electronics Club during three of their four school years.

There’s David William Appleton who was in the club during his freshman, sophomore, and junior years.

There’s Hal Gary Bell who was also in the club during his freshman, sophomore, and junior years.

Note that this 1957 yearbook is for their senior year. It appears that the club didn’t exist during the 1956-1957 school year.

Also note that it lists them as having been in the Electronics Club during their freshman year of 1953-1954. When you look at the entry for the Electronics Club in the 1955 El Caballero it specifically states that 1954-1955 school year “marks the establishment of the Electronics Club as a recognized student-body organization.”

Because of this, it would appear that there was an Electronics Club at Las Lomas during the 1953-1954 school year. It’s just that for some reason they weren’t officially recognized until the following school year.

That’s all the information on this part that we have at the moment. As with all these posts, please feel free to share any information you might have.
