According to the 1955 Las Lomas yearbook (El Caballero), they had an electronics club during the 1954-1955 school year.

It looks like the main objective of the group this school year was to obtain a ham radio set.

This year marks the establishment of the Electronics Club as a recognized student-body organization. Members, interested in mechanics and ham radio, elected sophomore Dave Appleton as president. Mr. Melville was the advisor for the group. Project for the year was acquiring a ham radio set; members earned money through a Snack Bar held at Varsity basketball games.

The members of the club were as follows:

David William Appleton (President)
Terry O’Neal, II
Hal G. Bell
A. Liang
Richard Brungard
Jeffrey E. Hurst
Mary E. Lawler/Mary E. Norman
Max H. Eckhardt
Cy Jones
Gerald Bogdanoff
Milton Lee
Gary V. Coggiola
Mike McQueen
Fred Sawyers
Danny D. Lommel
Don Busch
L. Sawyers
G. Lee Theuriet
R. Sheppard

Their advisor was Mr. Eugene Melville. He was in the Art and Industrial Arts department. He specifically did Metal Shop, Basic Shop, and Auto Theory.
