Kim Conti Clutts was interviewed by Andree Hurst on August 7, 2024. She was born in 1959, the same year in which her parents moved into a brand new home in Lafayette and her father bought the Butler-Conti Dodge Dealership, which he operated for the next 52 years. She has great memories of going through the schools in Lafayette, and she stayed in the area to go to college at St. Marys. At Butler-Conti her father worked closely with others in the local business community, and was ready to close a transaction with just a handshake for certain customers. His daughter Kim learned a lot about cars as she grew up, and even raced them. Kim owns 4 cars today, one of which she is rebuilding–a Dodge pick-up.

I remember George Conti very well. Just east of Butler Conti was a cabinet shop and just after that was my dad’s pool store, King Neptune Pools…. George was a great guy… I never remember Kim because she was 10 years behind me….
